Squirrel-Go-Round
The squirrels have stolen one of the arms of the Squirrel-Go-Round corn feeder. I went to Wild Birds Unlimited where Monty purchased the feeder and asked if they could sell me a replacement arm. They explained that although they used to be able to do that, Heritage Farms now prefers that customers call them directly; there is usually no charge, but customers have to call them.
So today I did that. The lady I talked to in Customer Service did not seem at all surprised that the squirrels had stolen one of the arms. In fact she recommended that when I received the new arm (at no cost btw) that I rubber cement it in place! She also recommended that until I receive the new arm, I temporarily remove the feeder as with one arm missing, it gives the squirrels much easier access to the corn. I didn't think of that, but I did notice that the corn is disappearing faster than usual and the Steller's Jays are also partaking of the corn at this feeder now. They have never done that before - so it must be easier for them also! These Jays and squirrels are so smart. Here's a rather blurry picture, but you get the idea.
